Camel

Camel is one of the most well-known cigarette brands worldwide. Camel is an American cigarette brand. In 1874, the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company was established in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in the United States. Its first product, and the first cigarette produced in the American tobacco industry, appeared on the market in 1913. Reynolds chose the unique name “Camel” for his product.

Camel was one of the first packaged cigarettes to use cellophane to preserve moisture, aroma, and flavor. Currently, the brand is owned by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in the United States, while Japan Tobacco owns it outside of the United States. In 1999, Reynolds sold the Camel brand to Japan Tobacco.
